A few years back when we found out that Cape Ray would be part of the Maritime Link to run Sub-sea Cables across the Cabot Strait my Granddaughter and I climbed a mountain here to look at the Landscape before it changed. That Maritime Link will connect our Island to Nova Scotia and to the North American Power Grid.
The changes to our Landscape will not be as drastic to what the people of Labrador has seen with theirs but it will not be pretty. We'll climb that Mountain again this spring and shoot a few more photos because the right of way for the Transmission Towers are almost completed.
Billions of Dollars will be spent on that Project and my Granddaughters Generation will be the ones picking up the Bill. Only time will tell if it was a good decision or not.
