So they found an Alien in Pakistan.
Apparently they decided to kill the little guy. Those darn little savages! The little guy never stood a chance. That would never happen here in NL. Here we would of welcomed the little Alien and had a screech-In. After he drank the Screech, kissed the Cod, swore allegiance to Danny we would of came up with a job for him and he would of lived happily ever after.

Our Newfoundland Pony is recognized by Canada Post.
(info from Canada Post)
A Newfoundland Pony, historically considered the all-purpose pony, trots onto the second stamp. This pony’s presence in Canada dates pack to the 17th and 18th centuries, when English settlers to New Founde Land brought along many breeds of ponies to help out on the rugged terrain. These hardy creatures adapted to the harsh climate of the North Atlantic, and over time, they interbred and merged into a common breed, now recognized as the Newfoundland Pony.

Binding Arbitration,we need it now!
An independent, third party body can have this Province back on track within days. Instead we see half a million people holding their breath and wondering what's next? We will be seeing a minimum level of patient care soon in a province that already lacks essential Health Care. Bargaining is suppose to be two sided but now it's a stalemate and we need a third party to step in and solve this one.

The CBC Weather Forecasters are still pumping out disinformation to the public!
Here's the latest for Stephenville from the CBC.
Wreckhouse wind warning in effect.
Today..Rain at times heavy. Amount 20 mm. Fog patches. Wind east 40 km/h gusting to 60 except 80 gusting to 120 in the Wreckhouse area. High plus 5.
Enviroment Canada is making the same announcement for Stephenville.
The Wreckhouse is closer to Port Aux Basques and this disinformation may be causing accidents. The Wreckhouse is over 100 kilometers from the area they forecast and some unsuspecting motorists unfamiliar with the area may die because of this disinformation.

Eastern Health will be offering T-Shirts to all who use the system and survive. The T-Shirts will be available some time next year after a study is carried out on which would be more feasible to sell, T-Shirts or Hoodies. A recent attempt on selling the items had been canceled because the manufacturer had spelled Eastern Health wrong. When asked about the mistake, Minister Wiseman replied it was simply "Human Error."

Who's to blame for DISINFORMATION?
Wind gusts at the Wreckhouse reached 111 kph Wednesday around 6:30 pm and this rig was the latest casualty . The driver of the Rig was taken to the hospital. I have written quite a few posts over the years on my Blog about the accidents and the need for better signage. Part of the problem involves the weather announcers on Radio and Television who keep refering to the Wreckhouse as being in the Bay of St. Georges area when in fact it's well over a hundred kilometers from St. Georges. I wonder how many accidents are caused by such weather announcements when unsuspecting tourists hauling campers/trailers and truckers new to the island hit the winds just 15 minutes off the Gulf Ferry and expecting the Wreckhouse to be a hundred kilometers or more away? Maybe someone involved in an accident should take it on themselves to sue the Government of NL for damages sustained in an accident such as the one in the photo. We need better signage and a bit of Geography taught to the weather people who put the disinformation out over the airwaves.
Few shots of the recent one.
