Raining today so i have been playing around with some filters in my Photoshop. I find the filters great for effects at times and they're a plus when making up Wallpaper or Slide shows. A few examples of Filters here i have used on Photos.

That's some fine Police work there Lou.

Early in July my son purchased several Bicycles for his children. Last week one was stolen from the front of his home and he contacted the RCMP in Port Aux Basques giving a description of the Bicycle. A week goes by and he decides to go to the Store where he purchased it from to get another. The guy who owns the store chats with him and they are over heard by another customer who asks what the Bicycle looks like. My son describes it and the guy says he has one identical by his home. He found it a week back and reported it to the RCMP and knows the kids who dumped it there. My son goes over to his place and it's the same one. Now i know a Bicycle worth less then $200 is not a major crime but after been reported lost and one reported found you would think the RCMP could of at least figured it out all by themselves? Yup,That's some fine Police work there Lou.

A large parolee wearing nothing but tennis shoes.

Deputies chase, arrest naked man
July 16, 2009, Daily Journal Staff Report

A large parolee wearing nothing but tennis shoes led sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed car and foot chase that ended with him being Tasered, shot with a bean bag gun and arrested for indecent exposure after allegedly exposing himself, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Deputies chased Peter Allen Steele, 38, on Saturday after responding to two reports in Woodside and Portola Valley of a 6-foot-7-inch, 250-pound man ringing a doorbell and standing naked in a doorway. Deputies reported seeing a car that matched the victims’ description but the driver sped onto Interstate 280 when deputies tried stopping the vehicle. At Sand Hill Road, the car struck the side of the road, flattening the tires. The driver continued on the rims until the car stopped, then jumped out naked, aside from his shoes, and ran into the open garage of a nearby home. The man went through the residence and to the back where deputies used a Taser and a bean bag gun to end the chase, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

The man, later identified as Steele was taken to the hospital with a pulse of 220 and staff there said he was observed masturbating on the gurney, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

A search of his car turned up a sex toy in the form of rubber female genitalia, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Steele was charged with two counts of indecent exposure, driving while under the influence, resisting arrest, trespassing, vandalism and fleeing a peace officer.

Steele is on parole for felony assault out of San Francisco and has prior felony convictions for stalking, making threats and evading police.

He remains in custody in lieu of $60,000 bail.

Geeze and i thought i had a bad day today. Never judge another guy unless you have to walk in his Tennis Shoes i guess.

Great Canadian Arctic explorer “Captain Bartlett” honoured with stamp

The stamp shows Bartlett holding a sextant against a vivid blue and white photo that captures the cool, harsh conditions of the Canadian Arctic, with the Roosevelt in the distance. The stamp's top-left corner features an outline of the globe from the North Pole downward bleeding into the stamp's frame.

The 54-cent stamp measures 40 mm x 31 mm horizontal and will be available in a 16-stamp pane with 13+ perforations on PVA gum type. Lowe-Martin has printed 1.75 million stamps using lithography in seven colours plus varnish on Tullis Russell paper. The stamps are general tagged on four sides. The Official First Day Cover will bear the cancel "BRIGUS NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR".

Swiss firefighters save elderly woman from her burning television by changing the channel

ZURICH (AP) — It must rank among the easiest fires ever to put out.

Zurich authorities say police and firefighters were called to the house of an elderly woman early Thursday after she reported her television set was burning.

When they arrived, they discovered no signs of fire or smoke.

They found instead that the TV was tuned into a German station that in the early morning hours aired the constant image of a fireplace.

"The fire was extinguished with the press of a button," police said in a statement.
