Winds peaked at 131 KPH in the Wreckhouse this morning and this Trucker experienced whiteout conditions. His damage will be minimum and he will be considered one of the lucky ones to experience the wind phenomenon. One thing for certain, events such as this will be played over and over again. Still no Digital signage in the area warning motorists of the wind.

CBC Reporter Doug Greer arrived at the scene the same time as i did and did a few video clips for the Here and Now News hour show. Hopefully with this coverage someone will soon wake up and think about the signage before someone dies out there.

I was wondering if you would be sniffing around while watching Doug’s piece. You guys must get around with 200 Ib weights tied to yourself just to stop from being blown away.

doug and i arrived on the scene about the same time.winds had dropped down to 60 - 70 so i deemed it was safe to go out there. as usual i was not disappointed. there was one tractor trailer in peril. we really need some digital signage on both ends warning motorists and im starting to suspect it'll only happen when someone dies out there.

That is usually the way Wayne, a costly way to have common sense prevail. Alas I am beginning to think that even deaths will not be enough for something to be done about that stretch of road.

Wayne,
I agree with you on the signage issue!
I understand from the CBC website that you have a large collection of these kind of photos and I'd be interested in buying some from you for a personal collage I'm making of tractor-trailer photos; if you could email me on this I'd appreciate it!
