My riding,Random - Burin - St. George's, has a population of 76,090,all not qualified to vote but all will be represented by the MP we send to Ottawa on January 23. It has an unemployment rate of 28.2%. Four candidates are vying for the job of MP this time around. Im sure a lot of other voters besides myself are waiting for the last minute to decide who to vote for.I sent all four Candidates an email of invite to comment here.My question is simple."Why should i vote for you?"I do hope they take the time to answer me. Hi Wayne and thanks for the opportunity to answer your question, why should
you vote for me? As you know I represent the Green Party. I am not going to
give you any waffle about promises I cant keep or go on about the past
political record of the other Candidates. Or even pretend for one minute I
am going to win! For all of us there is a much larger issue that we all need
to take a serious look at and it's the reason I have stepped forward to run
in this election, because I think anyone with a green conscience in Random
Burin St Georges, needs a place to mark their vote on election day.
Global oil production is said to peak in the next few years, this would mean
that there could perhaps be 40-50 years remaining of industrialisation based
on oil, perhaps less. The end of oil will basically mean a huge change in
the way we live. Currently, our lifestyles are 100% linked to oil and fossil
fuels. With huge growth expected in countries like China and India, there is
an ever increasing chance of an approaching energy crisis and with that many
other problems. For the most part this is merely a side note in Canada's
other political parties. The NDP, Conservative Party and the Liberals all
advocate a continuation of industrialisation based on ever increasing
growth, a society based on these principles will eventually fail because all
the 'resources' humans need to survive are not endless commodities.
Unless we begin to redefine our relationship to the planet we face turmoil
in the years to come. The burning of fossil fuels is changing the earths
climate, causing acid rain, water pollution, more human sickness, and
species loss. With an ever expanding globalized economy there will never be
enough fish in the sea, forests for fibre, natural gas, or anything else we
take from nature to live our over consumptive lifestyles. We see the effects
of this with the collapse of fisheries around the world and devastation of
the worlds forests and with that an ever increasing demise of the species of
the earth.
The Green Party is currently the only party that is undergoing a serious
discussion on redefining our relationship to the planet. The Green Party has
an extensive platform (www.greenparty.ca) that will help deal with these
looming problems. What we need to do in this election is to scare the wits
out of the Liberals, NDP and Conservatives by taking many votes from them,
only then will they begin to change their attitudes and their policies and
begin implementing real changes that need to be made to secure a future that
is currently in question for all of us. There really are no jobs on a dead
planet. Thanks.

Wayne thanks for stopping by the website...Vistapages ( hosted out of Tronto) has made it real easy to do a site, they have about 70 templates that you can choose from, just pick one and let your imagination run wild, beats fooling around with some of the HTML editors an the hosting is real cheap, I think for 2 years was $107.00 and you get all kinds of of goodies with it, your own blog, message formu, guestbook I chose to do my own guestbook from for the time being.
With your abilities and a www domain I think you could walk away with the downhomer community award for best website on a regular basis.
Go to their site www.vistapages.com and give it a shot they have a online demo that you can play with as much as you want, upload pics and make a site without having it on the net give it a shot, maybe we will see a full blown website from you in the near future.
Good point on the all not qualified to vote but all will be represented by whoever is voted in.

Wayne yes he does have some nice pic's on the page He has a guide service and every now and then get a celebrity that he takes out on a fishing trip.
"Hey JC! Thought you may have deen lost in the flood "or something". Everythings fine up here fella. Having an unusual winter here this year. 17 deg C here yesterday at noon. Normally -10 or so. Still 14 today and rain. Had a great year fishing this year . Relaxed quite a bit and explored a few ponds that hae not being fished for years. Had an old lead guitar player from the band AC/DC for a trip this summer. He thought twas pretty cool. The fishing I mean. Let me know what`s happining guy..
